The Phoenix Fire Department hires for the Firefighter position once a year, so it’s important to stay vigilant. You will have to keep checking the website for announcement of the exam dates. To apply online, you can log on to the City of Phoenix Employment website.
Once you have cleared the written exam, the City of Phoenix Human Resource Department will place you on the Firefighter Recruit eligibility list. This list will then be forwarded to the Fire Department. You will soon be notified about the date, time, and location of the oral board interview. After the interview has been taken, you will be notified via email whether you have been shortlisted for the final interview round.
You will be asked to give evidence of the successful completion of a Candidate Physical Ability Test (CPAT) from a licensed agency. You will also be asked to show proof of a National Registry EMT Certification or a State of Arizona Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Certification.
